Case summary

On February 6, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide through the port of Washington DC (Dulles), imported by Bottled Science, Inc of Chantilly, VA. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute unregistered pesticides. The importer has the option to export or destroy the violative product, and must provide to EPA documentation of the action. The Department of Energy and Environment and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services were copied on the NORA. FIFRA registration violations are exempt from EJ screen.
