On July 21, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of unregistered pesticides (antibacterial dishwasher detergent) by CAD Import, LLC of New Castle, DE through the port of Baltimore, MD. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute unregistered pesticides. The importer has the option to export or destroy the violative product, and must provide to EPA documentation of the action. The Maryland Department of Agriculture and Delaware Department of Agriculture were copied on the NORA, and FIFRA registration violations are exempt from EJ screen.
