On January 5, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and BorderProtection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide imported by UPS Supply Chain Solutions, LLC through the UPS Philadelphia Hub in PA. The shipment contained Silver Water that made antimicrobial claims for surfaces and was not a registered pesticide. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute an unregistered pesticide. The importer has the option to export or destroy the products and they will be required to provide documentation to EPA. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture was copied on the NORA, and FIFRA misbranding violations are exempt from EJ screen.
