Case summary
On November 24, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of a misbranded pesticide devicea imported by Premium Waters, Inc. through the Philadelphia International Airport in PA. The pesticide device was a UV bulb intended to mitigate microogranisms in water for bottling and was not labelled in accordance with FIFRA regulations. The importer has the option to export or destroy the device and they will be required to provide documentation to EPA. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture was copied on the NORA, and FIFRA misbranding violations are exempt from EJ screen.
