Case summary

On October 29, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of two misbranded pesticide devices imported by Crowley Government Services, Inc. through the Philadelphia International Airport in PA. The pesticide devices were a water filter and UV intended to remove microorganisms from ballast water on ships, and was not labelled in accordance with FIFRA regulations. The importer has the option to export or destroy the devices and they will be required to provide documentation to EPA. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture was copied on the NORA, and FIFRA misbranding violations are exempt from EJ screen.
