Case summary
On February 8, 2022, Region 3 issued a Notice of Warning (NOW) to Disinfexol, LLC in connection with the sale and distribution of the pesticide Disinfexol . Disinfexol, LLC, located in Rockville, MD, sold their disinfectant product with a 1-year shelf life claim, when it was only approved for a 6-month shelf life and also made other claims that differed from those accepted in connection with its registration under FIFRA. Additionally, Disinfexol used the EPA logo on their website which implies endorsement by EPA, which is not permitted. The NOW requires Disinfexol, LLC to respond to EPA explaining how they plan to achieve compliance with FIFRA. The Maryland Department of Agriculture has been notified of this action. Pesticide labeling violations are exempt from EJ screening.
