On January 18, 2021, EPA Region III settled Clean Air Act (CAA) matter with Braskem America, Inc (Braskem) for the Braskem Marcus Hook Polymers facility located in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. After a Risk Management Program inspection by the Oil and Prevention Enforcement Section on November 5, 2019, EPA found that the Respondent had violated regulations implementing Section 112(r) of the CAA which requires chemical accident prevention planning at facilities that use certain hazardous substances.
