On October 6 the Regional Judicial Officer issued a Final Order accepting the Expedited Settlement Agreement to settle RCRA violations and violations of Maryland's underground storage tank (UST) program by Empire Petroleum Partners, LLC. Empire Petroleum Partners, LLC is the UST owner and operator of four (4) underground storage tanks located at Crumpton CITGO #18108 in Millington, Maryland. Region 3's enforcement team, in coordination with MDE, was able to resolve the UST violation of failing to monitor one of the USTs every 30 days between 4/1/20 and 8/31/20. The violation was discovered through a UST Compliance Inspection conducted September 29, 2020, and subsequent information gathering. The respondent has agreed to pay a $940 penalty and has returned to compliance with the violations.
