Final Order No Penalty
Case summary
On September 30, 2022, SEMD Division Director Paul Leonard signed an Administrative Settlement Agreement and Order on Consent for Removal Action (Removal ASAOC) with Teleflex Incorporated (Teleflex) for performance of a time-critical removal action for Operable Unit 1 at a portion of the North Penn Area 7 Superfund Site (Site). The Site is on the CERCLA National Priorities List. Respondent Teleflex will conduct the removal action at the portion of the Site located at the former Teleflex Incorporated property at 203/205 Church Road in North Wales, Upper Gwynedd Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (Affected Property). The selected removal action at the Affected Property will include excavation and proper disposal of soil contaminated with volatile organic chemicals (VOCs). The VOCs in the soil at the Affected Property are CERCLA hazardous substances contaminating the groundwater. The Removal ASAOC also provides for payment of Future Response Costs incurred by EPA in connection with the removal action. EPA has notified the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) about the Removal ASAOC, and PADEP continues to actively participate as the support agency in overall Site management. The Affected Property is not located in an EJ community.
