Case summary
On November 25, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admissions (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide imported by Custom Gas Solutions through the CBP?s port Port of Norfolk-Newport News, VA. The shipment contained a cylinder of cyanogen gas which the MSDS stated could be used for fumigation of wood and timber against wood boring nematodes and insects. Sale and distribution of an unregistered pesticide is a violation of FIFRA. The importer has the option to export the product or destroy it.
