On July 20, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admissions (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide imported by Galactic Technologies, LLC through the port of Baltimore, MD. The disinfectant wipes called Alcohol Antibacterial Wipes are not registered with the Agency and the importer stated the wipes were being imported to assist the American consumers to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. A pesticide is any substance intended for preventing, destroying, repelling, or mitigating any pest, including bacteria and viruses, and all pesticides must be registered with the EPA. Sale and distribution of an unregistered pesticide is a violation of FIFRA.
