Case summary
On September 15, 2020, Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order regarding violations of the Residential Property Renovation regulations promulgated at 40 C.F.R. Part 745, Subpart E, ( RRP Rule ), by McCormick Renovations, Inc. ( McCormick ). On May 29, 2019, an EPA inspector conducted a records inspection to evaluate McCormick?s level of compliance with the RRP Rule. EPA determined that, during 2018, McCormick conducted renovations for compensation in four residential homes constructed prior to 1978. The inspection revealed that Respondent had violated the firm certification requirements, renovator certification requirements, information distribution requirements, and record keeping requirements of the RRP Rule. Under the terms of the settlement, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $5,200.00 to resolve these violations of the RRP Rule. EPA contacted the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regarding this matter, and the State has raised no objections.
