On September 12th, EPA filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement (ESA) with Guest Services Inc. based in Fairfax, Virginia to settle violations of the District of Columbia Underground Storage Tank regulations at the Columbia Island Marina, located in Washington, DC. As a result of this case, Region 3's enforcement team, in coordination with DC Department of the Environment, was able to resolve UST violations which included line tightness and line leak detector testing, cathodic protection testing and financial responsibility requirements. Guest Services Inc. was responsible for a $5,810 penalty as well as compliance with all UST requirements.
