Region III Enters into an Expedited Settlement Agreement with Bedford Valley Petroleum Corp. for violations of RCRA Subtitle I. On March 14, 2019, the Regional Judicial Officer issued a Final Order accepting the Expedited Settlement Agreement negotiated pursuant to Section 9006 of RCRA to settle violations of RCRA Subtitle I, and Maryland?s federally authorized underground storage tank (UST) program, by Bedford Valley Petroleum Corp. Respondent is the owner and operator of eight USTs located at the Bedford Valley Petroleum Bulk Plant facility in Cumberland, Maryland. The violations include a failure to conduct timely tank release detection on all the USTs, and failure to have functioning overfill prevention equipment installed on one of the USTs. The violations were discovered through information collected during an inspection at the facility on August 21, 2018, and from information provided after the inspection. Under the terms of the settlement, Respondent has paid a civil penalty in the amount of $8,460.00 and has returned to compliance with the violations cited.
