Case summary

On April 17, 2018, Region III entered into a Consent Agreement with, and issued a Final Order to, Berryville Graphics, Inc., settling violations of RCRA Subtitle C that EPA inspectors observed during an inspection of the company's facility in Berryville, Virginia (Facility). The settlement will ensure that in the future, the company will properly manage hazardous and universal waste at the Facility, and timely submission of reports to the state regulators. The Facility is an industrial book printing operation that services the book and publishing industry. RCRA is designed to protect human health and the environment by providing for the safe management of such hazardous wastes. The Company has agreed to pay a penalty of $28,187 to settle the enforcement action. EPA informed VaDEQ of the action by letter on August 16, 2017, and received no objection.
