On October 18, 2017, the Regional Judicial Officer entered a Final Order ratifying a Consent Agreement between EPA and the Milford Mobil Corporation (Respondent) located in Milford, Delaware for failure to maintain corrosion protection on the steel tanks owned and/or operated by Respondent at 13 Causey Avenue, Milford, Delaware (the Facility ). The purpose of corrosion protection is to ensure that releases due to corrosion are prevented for as long as the steel UST system is used to store regulated substances. Respondent's inaction posed a substantial actual or potential harm to human health and the environment in the event of a release into the environment. Respondent has returned into compliance. Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $9,584. The State of Delaware has been notified and concurs with this action.
