On April 13, 2017, EPA Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order simultaneously commencing and concluding an administrative action proceeding against U.S. Water, Inc. for alleged violations of FIFRA in connection with illegal distributions or sales of pesticide products by a company it acquired located in Aberdeen, Maryland (?Waterchem's). Specifically, Waterchem distributed or sold the unregistered pesticides Waterchem 1015 and Waterchem 2091, and the misbranded pesticide Waterchem 1020 in calendar year 2013. Under FIFRA, it?s unlawful to distribute or sell any pesticide which is unregistered or misbranded because such products present potential negative impacts to human health and environment. Per the terms of the CAFO, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $190,000.
