Case summary
On February 22, 2017, Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order resolving four violations of the Toxic Substances Control Act by IPSCO Koppel Tubulars, LLC ( Respondent ) at its facility located at 6403 Sixth Avenue, Koppel, Pennsylvania, 16136 ( Facility ). Respondent was storing combustible materials, including cardboard boxes, lumber and wood storage shelves, within 5 meters of PCB Transformers, and failed to properly label access doors to rooms containing PCB Transformers. By storing these combustible items within five meters of PCB Transformers and failing to properly label certain doors at its Facility, Respondent violated TSCA and the regulations promulgated thereunder. Under the terms of the settlement, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $29,541.00 and has certified that the Facility is in compliance with TSCA and the regulations promulgated thereunder.
