EPA v. SALEM TUBE, INC

Case summary

On August 1, 2016, Region III entered into a Consent Agreement with, and issued a Final Order to Composite & Metal Products USA, Inc. ( CUSA ), settling violations of RCRA Subtitle C that EPA inspectors observed during an inspection of the company's manufacturing facility located in Greenville, Pennsylvania ( Facility ). CUSA manufactures and supplies small diameter tubing at the Facility. During the inspection, and through subsequent communications, the EPA Inspector learned that the Facility: (1) failed to make a hazardous waste determination for a container of used aerosol cans and a container with unknown contents, and (2) failed to properly manage universal waste lamps in labeled, closed, and dated containers. CUSA has agreed to pay a penalty of $7,000.00 to settle the enforcement action. The Consent Agreement and Final Order initiate and resolve this enforcement action.
