Case summary
A Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) between EPA Region III and the U.S. Naval Support Activity resolved alleged violation of RCRA-C, RCRA-I and the CAA discovered by EPA during a multimedia inspection at the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Chesapeake VA on June 9-11, 2010. As a federal entity, penalty claims cannot be brought against the Naval Support Activity for violations of the Clean Water Act, however, prior to the execution of the CAFO, EPA required that the facility address SPCC compliance issues. The settlement required a payment of $49,500.00.
