Case summary
On September 13, 2006, EPA Region III issued an administrative compliant to Celanese Acetate LLC, ( Celanese ), seeking a total penalty of $36,564.00 for violations for Stion 103 of CERCLA 42 U.S.C. subsection 9603, and Section 304 of EPCRA, 42 U.S.C. subsection 11004. Celanese, failed to notify the NRC, SERC and LEPC immediately following a release of approximately twenty-six pounds of 1,3 butadiene.
