On September 26, 2003, EPA Region III issued an administrative complaint to Murry's of Maryland, Inc. (Murry's of MAryland ) seeking a total penalty of $106,565,00 for violations of Section 103 of CERCLA and Section 304 of EPCRA. Murry's of MAryland failed to nofity the NRC, the SERC, and the LEPC immediately following a release of approximately 4000 punods of ammonia from its facility in Lebanon, Pennsylvania on July 28, 2002. Additionally, the company did not submit follow-up reports regarding the July 28th release to the SERC and LEPC until 51 days after the release, therby violating the requirements in Section 304(c) of EPCRA 42. U.S.C. section 11004(c).
