EPA v. NAVAL AIR DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Case summary

On June 29, EPA concurred with an Action Memorandum for the Naval Air Warfare Center to improve control of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by converting an on-site groundwater monitoring well to an extraction well. This groundwater well is located near the former fire training area, where the highest levels of PFAS have been detected at the site. Extracted groundwater will be piped, along with the other extraction wells in the area, to the already operating on-site groundwater treatment plant. This Action Memo was one of two Federal Facility Mission Metrics achieved for month of June.
