On August 27, 2026, the Navy signed and EPA concurred on an action memorandum for the drinking water response actions to address private drinking water wells impacted by PFAS contamination from Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWC), Warminster. This action includes identifying and sampling private drinking water wells within the Navy's area of responsibility. Interim alternative water source will be provided where private wells exceed the EPA PFAS MCLs, where the Navy is the sole source and alternative water has already been provided within the same community. These locations will be offered permanent connections to municipal water supplies funded by the Navy. The cost to sample, provide interim alternative drinking water and connections to municipal water for those properties that exceed the EPA PFAS MCLs is 38,000,000.
