The Record of Decision (ROD) for Letterkenny SE Operable Unit (OU) 16 (EPA OU 35) was signed on November 16, 2021. The remedy requires sub-slab depressurization (SSD) Operation and Maintenance (O&M) at 3 residences; periodic vapor Intrusion (VI) sampling at 6 residences (includes the 3 with SSDs); and Annual Site Assessments and Land Use Controls (LUCs). LUCs include the distribution of informational devices to keep residents and other landowners within the OU informed of the status of the contamination. The contamination source is volatile organic compounds in groundwater from disposal areas and industrial wastewater lagoons and associated piping. Groundwater is being addressed under a separate OU.
