On September 30, 2025, EPA Region 2 signed an Administrative Order on Consent regarding the Goudey Power Station Site located in Johnson City, New York, pursuant to which Respondent, the current owner of the Site, will perform a removal action. The Site includes a former coal-fired power plant on nearly 33 acres, which borders residential areas and the Susquehanna River. The Site has been the subject of unpermitted demolition and scrapping operations that have resulted in the release of asbestos.
