EPA v. Medin Technologies
Final Order With Penalty
Case summary
Respondent failed to manage its Anodization Area and J-Press storage container to prevent releases of hazardous waste. At the time of the inspection, hazardous waste solids were observed on the unlined concrete floor near the J-Press hazardous waste trough and liquid and solid hazardous waste was observed on the unlined concrete floor near the Anodization Area. There were several structural materials showing signs of degradation and corrosion in this area as well. Additionally, the Respondent did not have the required hazardous waste permit for its Facility and was out of compliance with many regulations that must be met by large quantity generators to be exempt from RCRA permitting. EPA requested photographic and documentative evidence of the corrections made at the facility to ensure compliance.
