EPA v. City of Paterson
Final Order No Penalty
Case summary
EPA and the City of Paterson agreed to a Modified Collection System Project Schedule for the City of Paterson and entered into an Administrative Order on Consent CWA-02-2017-3054 on August 9, 2017. While the City has completed many of the projects in the schedule, it has not met the agreed upon schedule for five projects. This has been due to overall City financial difficulties, higher costs than anticipated, unanticipated soil conditions and failure to secure necessary State funding. This current action establishes a new agreed-upon project implementation schedule for those five projects. No penalty is associated with this action and there is no additional environmental benefit.
