Case summary
Respondent was hired as a Licensed Site Remediation Professional for the Westbrook Friendly Service Station. In the course of managing the contents of an abandoned underground storage tank at the service station, the Respondent shipped PCB waste without properly manifesting the waste, improperly transported, improperly stored and failed to mark PCB waste and PCB waste storage areas, and failed to notify EPA of it's PCB waste handling activities. Respondent agreed to pay a civil penalty of $50,000 and certified that it is in compliance with the provisions of TSCA and its implementing regulations. The PCBs were appropriately disposed in September 2016.
