Case summary
Respondent is a permitted large Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) in New York. A CAFO compliance evaluation inspection (CEI) was conducted on October 20, 2016. The CEI determined that the Respondent was not complying with the conditions of the NYSDEC SPDES General Permit for CAFOs. Permit violations include, but are not limited to: failure to conduct required inspections of water lines and manure storages including documentation thereof; failure to properly operate and maintain the Vegetated Treatment Area; and, failure to maintain required records. An Administrative Order is being issued to order the Respondent to comply with Permit conditions.
