Case summary
Respondent is a permitted large Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) in New York. A CAFO compliance evaluation inspection (CEI) was conducted on July 27, 2016. The CEI determined that the Respondent was not complying with the conditions of the NYSDEC SPDES General Permit for CAFOs. Permit violations include, but are not limited to: failure to install depth markers in manure storages, conduct required inspections of water lines and manure storages, and maintain required records such as overflows and weather conditions at the time of manure application and twenty-four hours prior to and following application. An Administrative Order is being issued to order the Respondent to comply with Permit conditions.
