Case summary

This action represents settlement of the United States' claims against the Settling Defendants, relating to the Standard Chlorine Chemical Co. Inc. Superfund Site. Pursuant to the Consent Decree, the Settling Defendants will (i) design and implement the remedial design and remedial action for the remedy selected by EPA in its Record of Decision for the Site at an estimated cost of $11,246,000.00, (ii) reimburse EPA for its projected future costs of overseeing performance of the remedial design/remedial action at the Site; and (iii) pay EPA $503,609.96, which represents 75% of EPA's unreimbursed past costs of $671,479.94.
