Case summary
Based on EPA inspections findings of improper design and operation, location within karst topography, in and adjacent to a sensitive eco-system, and uncontrolled stormwater and leachate releases, EPA determined that the Moca MSWLF may present an imminent and substantial endangerment to human health and the environment. EPA orders the landfill to be capped and closed with post-closure care of at least 30 years. Municipal recycling is required.
