Case summary

EPA found the Defendant failed to: make hazardous waste determinations, obtain permit or qualifying for interim status, keep containers holding hazardous waste closed, minimize risks, and keep records of hazardous waste training to its employees. As a result of these actions, hazardous waste is managed inappropriately, potentially resulting in releases that may adversely affect human health and the environment. Pursuant to the Consent Decree, the Defendant will pay a $60,000 penalty, conduct an Environmental Compliance Assessment and training on hazardous waste management to all facility managers in Puerto Rico.
