The Respondents will reimburse EPA for response costs, which will be deposited into the “Minillas Government Complex Superfund Site Special Account” within the EPA Hazardous Substance Superfund, to be retained and used to conduct or finance response actions at or in connection with the Site. Respondents had disposed of asbestos-containing materials from demolition and renovation activities in the North Tower in a Cargo Area outside the building, using the elevators and the service stairways. Under the settlement, the Respondents will also conduct removal activities to address the asbestos at the North Tower.
