Case summary
Defendant did not meet the April 1, 2012 deadline to install secondary disinfection under the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2). Injunctive relief: Defendant will install two UV units within the distribution system to comply with the LT2 requirements. The consent decree requires Defendant to undertake interim measures, including to reduce the amount of noncompliant water supplied by Westchester Water District No. 1 and enhanced monitoring of source water from the Kensico Reservoir for Cryptosporidium.
