Case summary

Respondent injects its stormwater into deep injection wells, into or above a local aquifer, which is an underground source of drinking water (USDW). EPA became aware of the Town's use of deep injection wells for stormwater management during a 10/8/2008 UIC inspection of the Youngblood Disposal Service facility located within the Town. This order requires the Town to sample the stormwater discharges to the injection wells in pursuit of a permit for continued use, implement the approved sampling plan and to sample discharges to the wells to determine the conditions of the permit. Injunctive relief includes contractor cost to develop a plan, sampling costs, and permit application development and submittal costs.
