Case summary
EPA issued a Record of Decision selecting a groundwater remedy for the Site in September 2009 and a Record of Decision choosing a remedy for the soil in September 2011. On September 29, 2011, EPA issued a unilateral administrative order to the Respondents requiring them to perform the soil remedy. The soil remedy, designated as Operable Unit 2, consists of construction of a soil vapor extraction system. The Respondents are currently performing the RD/RA for the groundwater under the terms of a unilateral administrative order issued in 2010. The Operable Unit 2 soil vapor extraction system will be built by the Respondents as an extension of a soil vapor extraction system to be constructed for the groundwater remedy.
