Case summary

The Settlement Agreement for recovery of past response costs concerns the Chemical Leaman Tank Lines, Inc. Superfund Site located in Logan Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. The Site is divided into three operable units. Operable Unit Three, the subject of this Settlement Agreement, addresses wetlands contamination at or near the Site. The Respondent completed the remedial construction for Operable Unit Three in June 2006, and has been conducting operation and maintenance work since that time. Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement, the EPA will be reimbursed costs the Agency has incurred in overseeing Operable Unit Three response work. The Settlement Agreement is issued by EPA pursuant to Section 122(h) of CERCLA and requires the Respondent to reimburse EPA for costs incurred by the Agency through January 31, 2010.
