Case summary

This auto repair/service facility contains one sink and one service area floor drain. The floor drain receives vehicle runoff and this floor drain leads into the septic tank and leach field. Water is supplied by a private well (fair quality-depth 35').The lone floor drain contained a semi-clear fluid and the dry shop floor showed evidence of previous spills. The drain is in close proximity to the service area at this facility. Facility utilizes the sink and the service area floor drain as their disposal system. The floor drain leads to an injection well which discharges to the ground. Owner is required to: -Cease injection: discontinue the use of the drain disposal system for the disposal of industrial waste. -To submit a remediation plan within 30 days of the effective day of the Order. Plan is to be developed in accordance with well remediaition requirements incorporated into Attachment I enclosed with Order.
