Case summary
This facility was one of several UST facilities selected for inspection because of it's location in a ground water endangerment risk area in NYS. The facility was issued Field Citation II-UST-FC-1029, in the amount of $750, for the following violations: 40 CFR 280.31(b): failure to ensure proper operation of cathodic protection system; 280.21(d): failure to provide overfill prevention system for an existing tank; and 280.40(a): failure to provide adequate release detection method. To address the violations the facility conducted cathodic protection tests of the tank and installed an INCON ATG equipped with release detection capabilities and a high-level overfill alarm.
