Case summary
The region was notified by Chemical Waste Management that Respondent sent several PCB Transformers to their landfill for disposal. One of the transformers was drained immediately prior to the transfer and the oil was inlcuded in the shipment. The oil, however, was added to the manifest only as a handwritten footnote, not an item as was required. Respondent was issued a Show Cause letter on June 26, 2003 with a proposed penalty of $8,250.00. This action is being concurrently issued with a Consent Agreement and Final Order.
