The Calculations for the Environmental Benefits Reported, are: Preventative Actions to Reduce Likelihood of Future Releases - Disposal Change (calculated based on manifests for one year (2003) = 360 gallons/ Media - Land + 807 pd/ 8 pd per gallon = 38 gallons + 360 = 398 gallons/ 55 gallons per drum = (7) 55-gallon drums x $5,000.00 (disposal cost per drum*) = $35,000.00* Disposal Cost per year = $35,000.00 * *disposal cost per drum include storage, transportation, in PR and US and disposal cost in a TSDF in US (there are no TSDF facilities in PR all waste goes to US) Facility/Site Management and Information Practices (costs in a year) for the following elements: Testing/Sampling, Record-keeping, Reporting, Notification & Training $75,000.00 Environmental Engineer with fringe benefits; $40,000.00 Equipment and disposal materials (PPE, drums containers, etc.); $15,000.00 Sampling analysis (characterization required for disposal);and $20,000.00 Annual training and refreshers to all personnel involved in the identification, labeling, collection and storage of haz. waste. Total per year $150,000.00
