Case summary
Raw sewage discharges at a location other than the authorized in the Bayamon Regional WWTP NPDES permit. An 8-inch diameter collapsed sewer pipeline was causing the overflows, that were conveying into Bayamon River. PRASA shall immediately cease and desist the discharge of pollutants into the waters of the United States from the manholes located along the River View Development. Within five (5) days of receipt of this ORDER, PRASA shall install a portable pump with temporary pipeline to replace the collapsed pipeline, thus eliminating the unauthorized discharge of raw sewage. Within 30 calendar days of receipt of the ORDER, PRASA shall initiate the permanent replacement of the collapsed pipeline in River View Development. The replacement of the collapsed pipeline shall be completed on or before October 2004.
