Case summary

EPA has found that Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA) has discharged/bypassed wastewater through a point source into waters of the United States. The point source, which is an appurtenance of the Puerto Nuevo Wastewater Treatment Plant, is identified as the Jardines Metropolitanos Wastewater Collection System. The wastewater bypasses have resulted due to the lack of appropriate operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system. As a measure of improving the operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system.
