Case summary

PRASA shall immediately cease the discharge of pollutants into the waters of the United States from the sewer pipelines located along the Ponce de Leon Avenue Stormwater Collection System. If the discharge of pollutants cannot be immediately ceased, PRASA shall immediately notify EPA and take all necessary steps to mitigate the impact of these discharges. Taking into consideration the safety of the residents of this area, PRASA shall consider the installation of a permanent disinfection point with automatic chlorination for twenty-four (24) hours until the sewage discharges are elminated. Within thirty (30) calender days PRASA shall submit a report to EPA that describes the actions that PRASA has taken to correct the deficiencies All the works shall be completed within three hundred and fifty (350) calender days. Commencing in December 15, 2003, and continuing for each quarter thereafter until full compliance with the Order has been achieved, PRASA shall submit in writing to EPA (CEPD), a quarterly progress report (Report) detailing the status and progress of PRASA's efforts to comply with the Order Withing three hundred and sixty (360) calendar days, PRASA shall submit a report and a certification to EPA that describes all works that were made to correct any possible conveyance of raw sewage into the Ponce de Leon Avenue Stormwater Collection System and that were completed.
