Case summary

'On June 7, 2002, an EPA representative from the Caribbean Environmental Protection Division, conducted a Compliance Evaluation Inspection (CEI) of the Aguas Buenas Wastewater Tretment Plant (WWTP) and found that necessary equipment for proper sewage treatment was out of service or malfunctioning. The Order require PRASA to maximize the Operation and Maintenance at the Aguas Buenas WWTP in order to achieve and maintain compliance with all the final effluent limitations. In addition, PRASA within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of this ORDER, PRASA shall submit a compliance plant to EPA-CEPD that outlines a schedule, for the completion of all the permanent repairs needed to correct the deficiencies found that the Aguas Buenas WWTP during the EPA CEI of June 7, 2002 and listed in Finding #2 above.'
