Case summary
'On July 1, 2002, an EPA representative form the Caribbean Environmental Protection Division (CEPD) conducted a Compliance Evaluation Inspection ( CEI ) of the Puerto Nuevo Regional WWTP. During the inspection it was observed that the facility''s outfall was broken and approximately 150,000 gallons/day of chlorinated sewage were being discharged into the facility''s grounds and then conveyed into a storm drain. The Order require PRASA to immediately cease the discharge of pollutants and to fix the outfall.'
