Case summary

Investigate and remediate various operable units at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Tech Center Site to prevent, mitigate, or abate the release or threatened release of hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants at the Site. The ROD OU12 was signed on August 26, 2019. There are four sites within this OU (Site 2, 3, 5 &6). Three of the sites are No Further Action and the ROD documents past actions taken by the FAA-ANG. Site 3 involves a response action. Based on the Human Health Risk Assessment, exposure to chloroform, naphthalene and PCE in groundwater was found to exceed EPA's threshold criteria. The ROD calls for soil excavation and off-site disposal, injection of a chemical oxidant to mitigate groundwater impacts and groundwater monitoring. Action Memo for FAA OU16 on January 25, 2024.
