On February 5, 2026, EPA issued A Clean Water Act (CWA) administrative order (Order) to Mid-City Scrap, LLC for failure to submit discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) pursuant to their CWA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. Mid-City Scrap, LLC for their facility in Westport MA were authorized to discharge under the Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP). The Order requires the permittee to submit all outstanding DMRs and continue to report as required by their permit. While EPA is responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act in Massachusetts, EPA also notified the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection of this action.
