Pioneer Plastics produces high pressure laminate, treated paper/fiberglass, and polyester resins. Formaldehyde, a chemical subject to the RMP regulations, is used in the production of resins. EPA identified violations of the RMP regulations that included: pipe labeling issues, unlabeled formaldehyde alarms, damaged formaldehyde pipe insulation, unlabeled formaldehyde piping, formaldehyde transfer hoses not properly cared for, and a lack of NFPA signs identifying hazardous chemicals. The ESA requires compliance and payment of total penalties of $10,200. Maine is not delegated to implement this program.
